Homemade Antibiotics!
Don't get me wrong, antibiotics can do a lot to help those
who are suffering, but using them too often can make them
less effective and even make you sick, why?
They can cause a disruption in the body's delicate balance of
"good" and "bad" bacteria.
So, that's why the next time you need an antibiotic, try one of
the natural Rxs listed below...
1) Sore Throats-
Feel a sore throat coming on? It's a virus or bacteria in your throat
tissues and can lead to a cold, infection or strep throat.
To hold off the oncoming sore throat and the 3 or 4 days of a bad cold,
head to your health- food store and get some oregano oil.
It'll kill the impending germs within a day and do it as effectively as
a Dr. prescribed med.
Dosage to take: Mix 2 drops of oil of oregano with a small cup of water.
Gargle 3 times daily.
2) Garlic-
Hands down, garlic is an effective germ killer. Its active ingredient
allicin kills bacteria more effectively than many antibiotics.
Amount to take: One clove daily or one capsule of Garlique.
Another tip: You don't have to be sick to take garlic- taking
some in capsule form or adding it to soups, salads or meat dishes
can help you prevent future illness.
3) Probiotics-
Ah, a stomach infection-nausea, cramping and the diarrhea that follows,
get it under control with a product called Saccharomyces boulardii,
a safe, healthy type of yeast that shuts down both garden-variety
microbes and drug-resistant ones. How? By producing hydrogen
peroxide and benzoic acid, which stalls the growth of the
sturdiest germs.
Important tip: Saccharomyces boulardii can be found under the brand
names Florastor and Jarrow. Take according to the directions on the
bottle.
4) Herbal Rx-
Feeling sore, headachy and downright awful?
Look to the herb Wild Indigo to put you back in the pink.
It boosts the production of infection-fighting white blood cells
in a matter of a few hours. This herb will also strengthen your immune
cells, helping them kill viruses and invasive bacteria.
Find wild indigo at health-food stores.
Dosage to take: 60 drops in water or tea (tincture) 3 times daily,
until symptoms abate.
5) Green Tea-
To help prevent viruses before they make you sick,
drink a cup or two of green tea daily. The antioxidants
in green tea are effective germ killers.
That's It- And remember, although natural is usually better and
safer, there may be a time you may have to take a Dr. prescribed
antibiotic.
Good Luck!
